Since the new administration took over in Washington, D.C., trade issues and “Made in the U.S.A.” have been hot topics. As the global trade war continues, many companies are reconsidering their manufacturing strategies and exploring the potential of shifting production to the U.S.

A poll from the Alliance for American Manufacturing found that the vast majority of respondents prefer to purchase American-made items. An overwhelming majority — 82% — said they would buy more Made in America products if they were sold more widely by large retailers. In fact, 60% of poll respondents said they made a conscious effort to buy something Made in U.S.A. over the past year.

The Reshoring Institute found that nearly 70% of the respondents said they prefer American-made products. Slightly more than 83% said they would pay up to 20% more for products made domestically.

An increasing number of consumers are becoming more aware of the social impact tied to their purchasing decisions. All politics aside, buying products labeled "Made in America" is not just about national pride — it’s a way to support U.S. workers and keep money circulating within the American economy. At the same time, the world economy is intertwined and it can be difficult to discern what companies and products are actually Made in America.

Retail shareholders care about Made in America as well and many want to invest in companies that make their products in the U.S. Here are some prominent and iconic U.S. brands that manufacture goods domestically.

Whirlpool (Tii:WHR) Headquartered in Benton Harbor, Mich., Whirlpool manufactures KitchenAid, Maytag, and its full line of appliance brands at factories that span the United States. Most of its manufacturing facilities are located in Ohio. Retail investors who own Whirlpool can also unlock shareholder perks. Just for owning a single share, individual investors can unlock 30% off their next purchase of a Whirlpool product.

Thor Industries (Tii:THO) Thor is the sole owner of operating subsidiaries that, combined, represent the world's largest manufacturer of recreational vehicles. Headquartered in Elkhart, Indiana, Thor and its subsidiaries have manufacturing facilities in Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Idaho and Oregon.

Intel (Tii:INTC) is spending more than $32 billion to build two leading-edge chip factories in Arizona and $28 billion for two in Ohio. Intel's factories are part of a larger effort to bring semiconductor manufacturing back to the United States, a move that experts and government leaders have said is critical to national security.

Nucor (Tii:NUE) is one of the largest domestic steel producers and was a major benefactor of President Donald Trump’s previous administration policies. The imposition of 25% tariffs on imported steel was a boon to the company as it made foreign steel more expensive, reducing competition.

La-Z-Boy (Tii:LZB) Headquartered in Monroe, Mich., La-Z-Boy supports 10 distribution centers and over 190 company-owned La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries stores, and is part of a broader network of over 350 La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries that, with La-Z-Boy.com, serve customers nationwide. The company makes 8,000 pieces per day and employs more than 11,000 at factories in Tennessee, Arkansas, Missouri and Mexico.

Brown-Forman Corporation (Tii:BF.A) is the Louisville, Ken. distiller that is the parent company of the Jack Daniels whiskey brand. The companies main locations domestically are in Versailles and Louisville, Ken. The company also has locations in Mexico, Ireland and Scotland. Brown-Forman Cooperage in Louisville is a significant facility for barrel production.

The Hershey Company employs around 20,500 people, with the vast majority of its employees based in the U.S.

Deere & Co. (Tii:DE) The parent company of the iconic John Deere brand is headquartered in Moline, Ill., Deere has been in business since 1837. The company operates through three segments: Production and Precision Agriculture (PPA), Small Agriculture and Turf (SAT), Construction and Forestry (CF) and Financial Services (FS). More than 75% of all products that the company sells in the U.S. are assembled here. Products are assembled by 30,000 U.S. employees based in more than 60 different facilities across 16 different states.

Winnebago (Tii:WGO) Of the roughly 100 companies that currently manufacture RVs, the vast majority have factories in the United States. Few of these companies, however, have a brand name that is as instantly recognizable as Winnebago. This corporation is based in Forest City, Iowa, and builds all of its motorhomes domestically.

Dolphin Entertainment (Tii:DLPN) While most companies on this list manufacture tangible goods, Dolphin Entertainment is redefining what it means to build something great in America. Headquartered in Miami, Fla., Dolphin is a powerhouse marketing and content company made up of iconic U.S.-based agencies including 42West, The Door, Always Alpha, Shore Fire Media, and Elle Communications. Their influence spans industries — from music and movies to food, fashion, and sports — and their impact is deeply rooted in American culture. Dolphin’s reach extends beyond the screen and the stage. This brand is best known for its motorcycles and has become one of the top-selling motorcycle manufacturers in the world. Headquartered in Milwaukee, Wisc., the company was founded in 1903. Harley-Davidson motorcycles are assembled in York, Penn. and Menomonee Falls, Wisc.
